The 2016 Clemson Tigers National Championship Ring is a remarkable piece of sports memorabilia, celebrating Clemson’s victory in the 2017 College Football Playoff National Championship game against Alabama. This was Clemson’s second national title in football, with the first being in 1981.
- Two-Tone Finish: This ring is notable for being the first-ever National Championship Ring produced in a two-tone design.
- Tiger Paw Centerpiece: At the center, the iconic Tiger paw is imprinted, made entirely of diamonds.
- Orange Stones: Three orange stones on the top edge represent the three ACC championships of Coach Swinney’s career, while five orange stones on the bottom edge signify Clemson’s five straight bowl wins
- Engraved Slogans: The edges of the ring bear the team slogans “Embrace the Target” and “Finish, No Regrets.”
- One side features the final score of 35-31 against Alabama, along with “National Championship,” “BACK2BACK,” and “CFP.”
The original championship rings were designed by Jostens, in collaboration with Clemson alumni, and presented to the team during a Family Night dinner at Clemson’s Allen N. Reeves Football Complex. The 2016 Clemson Tigers National Championship Ring is an iconic and richly symbolic artifact, representing a milestone in Clemson football history. Awarded after Clemson’s thrilling 35–31 victory over Alabama in the 2017 College Football Playoff National Championship, this ring is both a personal and collective testament to excellence, resilience, and team legacy.
